About this concert

Three extraordinary musicians enter into a musical alliance. Principal trombonist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra Jörgen van Rijen is always looking for new sounds and collaborations; Kay Sleking is a multi-instrumentalist and visual artist; Gery Mendes is an actor, musician and lyricist. Accompanied by string players from the orchestra and other musicians, this unique brotherhood brings together poetry, Latin American dance rhythms, layered composition and spoken word. A central element is the looping technique, which allows musicians to play duets with themselves. It promises to be an exciting Sunday morning!

Music styles meet, mingle and clash at Bijlmer Klassiek. Here, musicians from all possible genres and backgrounds work closely with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, resulting in five unique, ground-breaking concerts every season.
