About this concert
Musicians from the Concertgebouworkest will be giving mini-concerts for children between the ages of four and eight in the Amsterdam Hall starting from 1.30 p.m.: Carnival of the Animals and Peter and the Wolf.
Meanwhile, plenty will be happening in the Reception Room, the studios and the foyers. The children can discover it all in between the two mini-concerts – on a musical hunt, for example. They’ll be introduced to percussion and string instruments in an instrument garden. There’s also a mini-cinema featuring music videos, a digital music memory game and a listening and drawing corner. And of course, tea and coffee will be available for the adults.
Carnival of the Animals
It’s a whole procession of animals with verses by Marjet Huiberts. The children participate in the concert actively and experience the music and musicians up close. All the animals make an appearance, including chickens, a turtle, an elephant, and even fossils… Plus a big party! How does a lion roar? And how do kangaroos jump?
Performed by musicians of the Concertgebouworkest and presenter Lotte van Dijck. Concerts start at 1.30 and 3.30 p.m.
Peter and the Wolf
It’s the exciting story of the brave boy Peter who, with the help of his little friend the bird, ventures into the forest in search of the wolf. Will he succeed?
Performed by musicians of the Concertgebouworkest and actor Benjamin Murck. Presented by Lotte van Dijck. Concerts start at 2.30 and 4.30 p.m.
Tickets are available for the first performance (Carnival of the Animals at 1.30 and Peter and the Wolf at 2.30) and for the second performance (Carnival of the Animals at 3.30 and Peter and the Wolf at 4.30). Doors open twenty minutes before each performance.
