About this concert

Concertgebouworkest Young is a very special youth orchestra that brings together young talent from all over Europe. Next summer marks the fifth time Young is being held, and more and more former participants are enrolling in professional music courses. Tonight, five wind players – all former Young participants – share the stage with a number of their fellow conservatory students to give a dazzling performance. Along with two young talented singers (Ana Štefan from Slovenia and Milica Janković from Serbia) and jazz musicians, they mix classical, jazz and narodna (Balkan folk music).

They’ll be showcasing their talent and where they’re going, as well as where they come from and where their hearts lie.

Bijlmer Klassiek is all about musicians across a wide range of styles sharing the stage. Musicians and other artists of every conceivable genre and background also work closely with members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra to produce a series of unique, cross-genre concerts each season.

In Bijlmer Klassiek, we collaborate with the Bijlmer Parktheater in a series of groundbreaking concerts seamlessly blending a broad palette of different musical styles and genres from all over the world.
