Fons Verspaandonk

Fons Verspaandonk studied with Herman Jeurissen at the Brabant Conservatory, where he graduated with honours. He took masterclasses with Radovan Vlatkovic, Frøydis Ree Wekre en Michael Höltzel.

Fons Verspaandonk was appointed third horn with the Concertgebouworkest in January 2004. Prior tot his, he was a member of the Brabant Orchestra (1995-1998) and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (1998-2003).

From 2007 to 2011, Verspaandonk taught horn at the Fontys Conservatoire in Tilburg.

He is a member of the Farkas Quintet. Verspaandonk has also performed chamber music with ensembles such as Camerata RCO.

Together with Arno Piters, he organizes the programming of the chamber music festival "Les Étoiles du Morvan" in France.

Fons Verspaandonk plays an Alexander 103 double horn and a B flat/high F horn 107, also from Musik Alexander, on loan from the Foundation Concertgebouworkest. One of these horns was purchased with support of a member of the Freundeskreis Schweiz.
