Bijlmer Klassiek
In collaboration with the Bijlmer Parktheater we organise a series of groundbreaking concerts where different musical styles blend seamlessly — or clash in exciting ways. At Bijlmer Klassiek, orchestra members perform alongside musicians from a wide variety of other backgrounds, creating adventurous programmes that appeal to a wide audience.

In 2022 the Concertgebouw Orchestra took over the series from violist Michael Gieler, who had been organising it for many years. Since then, orchestra members have shared the stage with such musicians as Martin Fröst, Borys Fedorov, Tatiana Abayeva, Laura Polence, Daniel de Moraes, Breno Viricimo, Emmanuel Boateng, Selim Doğru, Stanley Clementina, Roderigo Robles de Medina, Marlon ‘MrJetFly’ Francis, Sophie and Alain Anglionin, and Kay Sleking. The series has also featured spoken word artist Zaïre Krieger, dancer/choreographer Rutkay Özpinar, actor Kenneth Herdigein, rapper/actor Gery Mendes, and many others.
The 2025-26 season of Bijlmer Klassiek promises to be another boundary-pushing adventure. Programme details will be later announced on concertgebouworkest.nl and bijlmerparktheater.nl.
