About this concert
The Mahler interpretations of conductor Bernard Haitink and the Concertgebouw Orchestra are legendary. In memory of Haitink, who died in 2021, the orchestra appoints a talented young conductor as its associate conductor every two years. The first one in the orchestra’s history is Aurel Dawidiuk. This remarkable talent, born in Hanover, is rapidly making a career. During two seasons, he assists the Concertgebouw Orchestra’s chief conductor designate Klaus Mäkelä, is involved in talent development and conducts concerts.
