Felipe Manzano

Felipe Manzano began playing the viola at the age of five at the conservatoire of La Rioja. He is currently studying for his bachelor’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts with Professor Hartmut Rohde. In addition, he studied chamber music with Eberhard Feltz and the Artemis Quartet. Felipe has worked with such musicians as Nobuko Imai, Yuval Gotlibovich, Miguel da Silva Heinz Holliger, Claudio Martínez Mehner, and Santiago Cañón Valencia. 

In 2018 he won the first prize at the Artur Fernandes Fão International String Competition in Portugal. 

Felipe participated in the 2019 edition of Concertgebouworkest Young, where he served as principal violist. Since then, has participated in the Verbier Festival, Encuentro Música y Academia de Santander, the International Mendelssohn Festival in Hamburg and the Kronberg Academy’s chamber music programme Mit Musik – Miteinander.  

In recent years, Felipe Manzano has performed with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Ensemble Modern, the Spira Mirabilis Ensemble, and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
