Brahms Cycle
The concerts and recording are the culmination of a Brahms cycle the Concertgebouw Orchestra and John Eliot Gardiner started in October 2021. During earlier concerts, Brahms' symphonies were linked to choral works and both piano concertos. In March 2024, the British conductor will return to the Concertgebouw Orchestra to conduct Brahms' German Requiem.
Altered starting time on 5 May
Sir John Eliot Gardiner has the honour of conducting the music preceding the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London. In order that he can accept this personal invitation from The King, the starting time of the concert on Friday 5 May has been altered to 7.00 p.m.
