Partnership citizenM
Between 18 and 24 November we’ll be on tour in the United States. It’s the 25th US tour in our history, and our first time there with our chief conductor designate, Klaus Mäkelä. Performing in the United States is key for the Concertgebouw Orchestra and its international status as one of the best orchestras in the world.
The American-Dutch connection is embedded in the history of our orchestra, and by visiting the US the orchestra wants to amplify that valuable connection. This gives the American audience the opportunity to listen to this world class orchestra and experience Dutch heritage, specifically the unique Concertgebouw Orchestra sound, closer to home. We promise electrifying live moments each concert.
citizenM & the Concertgebouw Orchestra
Both the Concertgebouw Orchestra and citizenM share Dutch origins and a strong connection to the United States. Performing in the U.S. is essential for our international reputation and growth. Our focus on providing a high-quality experience for our guests aligns seamlessly with citizenM’s philosophy. Moreover, citizenM is no stranger to our orchestra: an ensemble from our orchestra gave an exclusive performance at the citizenM New York Bowery hotel in 2019.
citizenM’s contribution
Thanks to this partnership, our musicians and staff can rely on a comfortable stay at one of the two citizenM hotels in Washington DC during the tour. With contemporary and stylish accommodations, citizenM provides a home away from home, allowing us to focus on what we do best: delivering world-class music. After the final concert in Washington, citizenM will also host a reception for musicians and guests—a special way to wrap up the tour together.
'We are thrilled to be supporting the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra on their US tour. As a company with Dutch roots ourselves, we feel very connected to the RCO and the ambition to bring their musical experience to the US - something we can strongly relate to having opened our first US hotel in 2014, followed by another 15 over the next 10 years. Supporting culture and the arts is core to citizenM's DNA as a brand so partnering with the RCO on their journey to the US was a natural fit for us, and we hope the US welcomes them as warmly as we experienced.'
– Klaas van Lookeren Campagne – CEO citizenM
'We are delighted to partner with citizenM on our upcoming US tour this November. With a shared Dutch heritage and a deep-rooted passion for creativity, we couldn’t wish for a better partner to support our journey to bring world-class music to new audiences. Just as citizenM has redefined hospitality across continents, we strive to inspire and connect through music, bridging cultures and communities. We look forward to sharing our performances with our American friends, strengthened by this meaningful partnership.'
