Follow us to Japan and South Korea
On 31 October, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, conductor Fabio Luisi and pianist Yefim Bronfman embarked on a tour of Japan and South Korea. We visited Japan for the twentieth time and we have been to Seoul six times before. Have a look at the pictures!
Yefim Bronfman performed the solo in Liszt’s Second Piano Concerto. Furthermore, the tour repertoire included Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, Weber’s Overture Oberon, Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony, From the New World and Bizet’s Symphony in C.
The tour is made possible by among others KLM, who arranged the transport of the musicians and instruments. In collaboration with KLM, the brass section performed a free concert under the Tokyo Tower on 8 November at 12:30 local time. The full orchestra visited Kawasaki, Nagoya, Kyoto, Tokyo and Seoul on this tour.
On 3 November, when the tour started in Kawasaki, we celebrated our 135th anniversary.
