Valerie Schweighofer

Valerie Schweighofer is currently studying in Liza Ferschtmann’s Solo Performance class at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, where she previously studied with Krzysztof Wegrzyn. Further artistic inspiration came from Oliver Wille, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Jörg Widmann and Midori, among others.  

Valerie was a prizewinner at varous competitions, including the WDR3-Klassik Preis of the city of Münster and the Odessa and Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competitions.  

As a soloist, she has performed with several orchestras including the Munich Symphony Orchestra.  

In 2023, she was a member of the first violin section of the NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hanover.  Valerie is a founding member of the Avin Trio, which performed at festivals throughout Germany, and won a scholarship and special prize at the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb.
