1934, Concert at the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium conducted by Willem Mengelberg
dirigent: Willem Mengelberg (1871-1951) (en)
The Concertgebouw Orchestra plays Carl Maria von Weber's Oberon Overture, the Adagietto from Arlésienne Suite No. 1 by Georges Bizet and the Hungarian March from Hector Berlioz's La damnation de Faust. For this recording the orchestra traveled to Epinay-sur-Seine, France. At the Tobis Klangfilm studio the Main Hall of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw was recreated, including the famous staircase. Thus the orchestra played in a more or less familiar setting with plenty of space for cameras, microphones and proper lighting.
