Esther Frey
Esther Frey grew up in Munich, Germany. She has been playing the violin since the age of 5. After her studies in Rudens Turku’s violin class she studied with Herwig Zack at the University of Music in Würzburg.
Currently she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree under Sophia Jaffé at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. She has participated in masterclasses by Ana Chumachenco, Natalia Prischepenko and Mieczyslaw Slezer.
Esther was a multiple prize winner at several competitions, including those held by the Ina und Gustav Lenzewski Foundation and the Jugend Musiziert Foundation.
As a member of youth orchestras such as the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, sometimes in the position of concertmaster, Esther has been performing under such conductors as Daniel Harding, Daniele Gatti, Mark Elder and Jonathan Nott. In 2022 she made her debut as a soloist with the Junge Frankfurter Sinfoniker.
In addition, she frequently plays in various chamber music ensembles.
