Portrait video Joris van den Berg
Joris van den Berg is substitute solo cellist with the Concertgebouw Orchestra. He grew up in a family where music was at the core of everything. Both of his parents were musicians and if they couldn’t find a babysitter, he just had to go along to their concerts. Meet Joris in this video!
During a concert you are terrifically concentrated, completely absorbed in the music. At the same time, you also pay attention to everyone around you – by listening, watching and keeping an eye on the conductor. This combination ensures that you don’t think about anything else.
