Concertgebouw Orchestra in Baden-Baden
From 2026, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will be a partner of the Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden for three years, taking over from the Berlin Philharmonic. The orchestra and its future chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä will be performing there every year during Easter week.
Together with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the orchestra will be in residence at the festival, giving Passion performances and symphonic concerts.
The city in the Black Forest has been known as a health resort for centuries, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and has a rich music history. The Osterfestspiele take place at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden (Germany's largest opera house) and at many other venues in the city.
