Tomás Ferreira
After his first trombone lessons with Luciano Franco and Nuno Ribeiro, Tomás Ferreira joined the class of Reinaldo Guerreiro at Escola Profissional da Metropolitana in 2015. Three years later he was admitted at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Jörgen van Rijen, Pierre Volders and Remko de Jager. Tomás is currently doing a master degree at the same institution with a scholarship offered by the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. He has received masterclasses from Barbara Hanningan, Joseph Alessi, Ian Bousfield, Enzo Turriziani and Peter Moore.
Since 2023, Tomás has been a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra. In addition, he has performed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic as well as the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa.
Tomás Ferreira has performed in various chamber music formations, such as the New Trombone Collective and Studio Musikfabriek. His curiosity for early music led him to take lessons with Adam Woolf and Joren Elsen.
