Katharina von Behren

Katharina von Behren received her first violin lessons from Ulrike Podlech. After lessons from Eduard Sonderegger, she pursued her bachelor studies in Freiburg with Gottfried von der Goltz from 2020 to 2024. She took part in masterclasses with Ingolf Turban, Elisabeth Kufferath and Anke Dill, and lessons with Gunnar Persicke, Fiona Jännti, Silvie Altenburger and Sebastian Hamann. 

Katharina has been a substitute in the Freiburg Philharmonic. In 2023 she went on tour with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, serving as concertmaster, and with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester as principal second violinist. With these orchestras she performed under the baton of renowned conductors such as Daniel Harding, Daniele Gatti and Jakub Hrůša and worked with soloists such as Martha Argerich, Stefan Dohr and Emmanuel Pahud. She performed at the festivals of Rheingau, La Grange au Lac, and Salzburg. 

As a soloist, Katharina performed with Sinfonietta Ulm, the Donauphilharmonie Ulm and the student orchestra of the Freiburg University of Music.
