Zemlinsky: Die Seejungfrau
Vladimir Jurowski was born in Moscow, where he attended the conservatory. After his family moved to Germany in 1990, he continued his studies at Dresden and Berlin. Since 2001, Jurowski has held the position of music director of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera to great acclaim. After serving as principal guest conductor for four years, he was appointed principal conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007. Vladimir Jurowski is also principal artist with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and music director of the Russian National Orchestra. He has made guest appearances with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
