Bert Langenkamp

Bert Langenkamp studied at the Twente Conservatory with Herman Hopman, going on to study with Peter Masseurs at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. He took masterclasses with such musicians as Timofei Dokshizer and studied baroque trumpet with Susan Williams at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

In 1994 he joined the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra for one season, a post he combined with freelance work for various orchestras and ensembles, including the Ebony Band, the Schönberg and ASKO Ensembles and Orkest de Volharding.

He held the position of principal trumpet of the North Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra from 1998 to 2001, joining the ranks of the Concertgebouworkest in January 2001.

He gives regular solo concerts with o of the Concertgebouworkest and the David Kweksilber Big Band.

Langenkamp has various trumpets on loan from the collection of the Foundation Concertgebouworkest, varying from German trumpet to Bes cornet. A number of these trumpets were donated to the Foundation by private donors.
