Liesbeth Bosboom
Liesbeth Bosboom received her master’s degree with highest honours from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague in 2019, where she studied under Michel Strauss and Jan-Ype Nota. Currently, she is a substitute cellist for various Dutch orchestras, and regularly gives solo recitals and concerts in chamber music formations, having performed in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Spain, France and Taiwan. Bosboom performed the cello concertos of Haydn, Dvořák, Elgar and Bloch’s Nigun as a soloist with several orchestras, including the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra.
She attended masterclasses by Richard Aaron, Xenia Jankovic, David Strange, Kian Soltani and Shmuel Magen, among others. In 2010, she won various awards at the Peter de Grote Festival, the Haydn Music Festival and the Princess Christina Competition.
Liesbeth Bosboom plays a cello built by Frank Ravatin in 2016 with a bow made by Adreas Grütter, on loan to her by courtesy of the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
